White competed in the Culinary Team of the Quarter competition for Marine Corps Installations West. White and her teammate, Cpl. Jacob R. Ballard, placed first out of four teams with their winning meal of finger shrimp po’ boys, jammin’ jambalaya, Cajun fried okra tempura with scallion sauce and chocolate crepes with fresh strawberries. White and Ballard received embroidered chef’s coats, gold medals, a plaque and a two-week trip to the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

Crabtree received the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Community Service of the Year Award for attempting to save the life of retired Master Chief Petty Officer Harold Lee Perry Jr., who died in Crabtree’s arms after plummeting more than 100 feet off the Rappahannock Bridge near Fredericksburg, Va. Crabtree was driving on Interstate 95 when he witnessed the accident. He ran to Perry and administered First Aid until medical help arrived.

Unit: 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing

As the equal opportunity advisor for 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Brown is responsible for advising commanders on policies and procedures as well as working with equal opportunity representatives from nearly 70 units. “My job is to emulate the general’s intent throughout the whole command so everyone understands discrimination won’t be tolerated,” he said. Brown previously worked as a radio chief for Special Operations Command.
