On Patrol

A local Afghan goat farmer directs his herd around a convoy with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment in the Garmsir district, Sept. 20, 2011. From Sept. 19 to 24, elements from Bravo and Hotel Company partnered with their Afghan National Security Force counterparts to clear compounds and roads in an area of Garmsir with a reduced presence of coalition forces.

    The older salts of 3/3/3MarDiv are proud of our younger brothers carrying on our tradition. From Fuji’s frozen crusts, through Malaya, Borneo and Pakistran’s heat, BLT 3/3/ served when called upon in back in the late 50′s. I remain happy and proud of our FMF service, wherever it took us. In my book and time, no other outfit did better.
